NO METAL CLEATS
Hi Teams,
Metal Cleats are NOT Allowed at ENERGY CAPITAL SPORTS COMPLEX OR at ENZI.
ENZI shouldn't be an issue as 10U is playing there and they can't wear metal cleats.
Division Seeding vs Pool Seeding
Division Seeding vs Pool SeedingTo promote fairness, USSSA CO/WY is implementing Division Seeding for divisions where pools and brackets are unbalanced.
Pool SeedingWhen Pools and Brackets divide evenly -> then the Pool standings will feed into the Bracket seedings.
Say we have 16 teams across 4 Pools and we have two Brackets of 8 teams each.
The 1st and 2nd place teams from each Pool (8 teams) will feed into the upper bracket and the 3rd and 4th place teams from each Pool (8 teams) will feed into the lower bracket.
When Pools and Brackets do not cleanly map, say with a division of 28 teams feeding into 4 brackets of different sizes, we have found it is not fair to randomly seed Pools unevenly into Brackets.
So, to increase fairness when the Pools and Brackets are uneven, we will not seed by Pool, but instead will seed by the entire Division.
For example, for a 28 team division, we'll seed teams 1 to 28 into the Brackets and we will use the USSSA Tie Breakers to determine placement:
Pool Standings Sorted on the following:
--------------------------------------------------
1) Winning Percentage - Descending
2) Number Wins - Descending
3) Number Loses - Ascending
4) Tied Teams (vs. each other) Winning Pct - Descending [Not valid if all tied teams have not played each other]
5) Avg Points Allowed - Ascending
6) Avg Run Differential with a maximum of (8) - Descending
7) USSSA Points - Descending
8) Date Team Entered USSSA Database
With Division seeding, it is possible for a Pool to send multiple Teams to a single bracket based on the tie breakers when teams are compared across the entire Division.
IPGSA Tournament of Champions/WY USSSA State
Although we are using Pools internally to schedule and segment teams by locations, we are grouping all teams from the same division into one public pool for combined standings and bracket seeding.
10U FIELDS At ENZI
Hi 10U Coaches & Families,
On Saturday and Sunday you will be playing at the ENZI Fields in Gillette.
You will not play there on Friday.
There is NOT an address for the Enzi fields, so we will have the Gillette Recreation Center's Address on the site.
The Fields are down the road from the rec center.
The fields are very nice and have just had a major facelift.
HOWEVER... there are NO Dugouts
For this reason, please bring Tents and Chairs for the players to create dugouts.
Parents will also need chairs as there are no bleachers.
There will be 4 port-a-potties.
While we will do out best to keep the loaded with TP, you are encouraged to bring your own supplies too.
Thanks for your help and understanding.
